If you are looking for a cookie that is more than just an ordinary chocolate chip cookie, you have to try these! Perfectly Spiced, and deliciously sweet, These oatmeal M&M spice cookies are sure to blow your tastebuds away!

There are few things in life as satisfying as popping a handful of M&M pieces in your mouth! Am I right? well okay maybe one thing… these cookies! I’m not sure if its the bright colors or the fact that they are baked into a soft, chewy, deliciously spiced cookie that has me swooning over them.
One thing I love about this recipe is that it comes together really fast. You don’t have to wait for butter to come to room temperature, you don’t have to pull out your stand mixer, you don’t have to chill the dough, and you don’t have to set aside 2-3 hours of your busy day baking a big batch of cookies. All you need for this recipe is a large bowl, a wooden spoon, a couple cookie sheets, and less than an hour to whip these up. This is the perfect cookie to whip up before heading out to soccer practice.

How to make Oatmeal M&M Spice Cookies
- Preheat your oven for 375F. Lightly grease a cookie pan (or line with Parchment paper) and set aside.
- Measure out 1/2 cup of shortening and place it into a large microwave safe mixing bowl. Zap it in 30 second increments until melted. It shouldn’t take longer than a minute and a half or so.
- Add in the brown sugar, egg, baking soda, buttermilk, flour, cloves, cinnamon, and rolled oats. Give it a stir until just combined. There can be a few floury streaks left.
- Fold in the M&M pieces.
- Drop by the tablespoon (doesn’t have to be exact) onto your prepared cookie sheet, and pop them in the oven for 10-12 minutes. I found that 11 minutes was the perfect amount of time.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for 2-3 minutes on the cookie sheet before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
See.. I told you it was easy, now go enjoy those cookies!
